The last step before publication, proofreading is the final review to catch typos, punctuation errors, and formatting issues, ensuring your text is error-free and publication-ready.
A proofreader looks at your novel in its publication layout. I am happy to offer formatting support to authors who have completed the copy editing stage and are preparing their book for proofreading.
When proofreading, I will look for line- and page-level text and formatting issues:
typos (punctuation and spelling)
consistency of margins and indentations
text justification
page breaks
placement and content of illustrations
headers and footers
page numbers
front matter (table of contents, copyright page, etc.)
glossary content and format
front and back covers
When proofreading is finished, your book will be ready to go to press!
I offer proofreading services in French, English, billed at $40/hour. Feedback will be delivered in comments directly on the your manuscript (PDF, MS Word, or Google Doc). I will also send an email summarizing any overarching observations.
